Pet Owners to register their dogs by Jan 31: Noida Authority

In response to an increase in dog bites in residential areas, the Noida government has made pet dog registration mandatory and has asked all pet owners to register their pets by January 31, 2023. The revised policy for pet animals requires all owners to have their pets vaccinated against rabies. On November 12, the Noida Authority's 207th board meeting approved the policy. According to the statement, the registration fee will be Rs 500, and the registration will be valid for one year.

Registrations will be renewed every year between April 1 and April 30. If a person fails to register his pet by January 31, 2023 and fails to report his pet by February 28, 2023, a Rs 200 fine will be imposed. "Any delay beyond February 28 will result in the pet owner paying Rs 700 plus Rs 10 per day to the Authority if he registers his pet between March 1 and 31," the policy rules stated.

If any pet owner fails to register their animal, the Noida authorities will begin fining them. Along with registration, the pet policy requires the vaccination of pets, and violators will be penalized if their pets still require anti-rabies and other necessary vaccinations. Please do so to avoid the pet owner being fined Rs 2,000 per month. In addition to vaccination and sterilisation, owners must pay Rs. 10,000 in victim compensation if their pet bites someone. They will also be responsible for the victim's treatment costs. The policy was developed in response to suggestions from resident welfare associations (RWA), apartment owners associations (AOA), and members of the general public.

The Noida Authority has given RWAs, AOAs, and village residents some land to build a shelter for stray dogs and sick and aggressive street dogs. The policy also states that if a pet dog urinates in a public place, it is the animal owner's responsibility to clean it up. The policy also includes specific guidelines for stray dogs. The guidelines state that the respective RWAs and AOAs will maintain and manage these shelters. It also noted that dedicated feeding stations would be established outside societies and residential colonies and that people would only be required to feed stray dogs at these designated locations. Stray dogs in the city will be sterilised and vaccinated by the Noida Authority.

Launch the Noida Authority Pet Registration Application (NAPR) to begin the pet registration process. Tap the "new registration" link on the app's home screen. Fill out the form with your pet's information, including name, age, breed, sex, vaccination date, and photos. You must also upload your document and select the option to continue paying after reviewing the information. Reading the terms and conditions that appear on your screen is essential. After accepting the terms, choose a payment method from the drop-down menu, such as a debit card, SAMPAY, UPI, etc. Complete the transaction and save a screenshot of the payment for your records.
