Five ways to check your dog’s health

Your best friend is your pet; they should be in tip-top shape throughout their life and well past it because they are family. Whether it was from a sudden accident, old age, or illness, you want to ensure you know what your dog's health is like so that if anything changes, you can take action. Here are some ways to track how fast a dog's heart is beating, whether the eyes and ears are working as well as they should be and what kind of nutrition they have been getting.

Five ways to check your dog’s health

Five ways to check your dog's health:-

1. Check for heartworms
Heartworm disease can adversely affect your dog's health, beautiful as he may be! Check the dog's heart's pulse to see any symptoms before considering possible heartworm disease. This disease can be fatal and is not something you want to mess around with, so check out what the dog is up to. It is better to take a closer look at your four-legged friend's ears and other parts of his anatomy that you might not usually check and make sure he doesn't have ear mites, fleas, or ticks. If you discover an infestation on your pet, take action immediately and eliminate the pest within 24 hours.

2. Listen to his bones
It is essential to listen to the dog's bones and especially to the sides of their spine, as they sound different when they are in pain or are starting to fail. Also, check that the dog can breathe normally and that there is no excessive wheezing, snoring, or yelping.

3. Check for a swollen abdomen
Being overweight can lead to respiratory problems and other health issues, but the main problem is that their organs are put under a lot of stress and pressure by the added weight. Dogs with swollen abdomen require medical attention, and they need it soon!

4. Take him to the vet
Take your dog to the vet at least once every year. The vet can check his heartbeat and general health, take blood pressure readings, etc. He will take a physical test and ensure your dog is doing well. Make sure you take your pet for these checkups as soon as he needs it so the vet can tell you what's happening.

5. Check the eyes and ears
As with all the other organ systems in your dog's body, he also has eyes and ears, which should look as good as possible. Can they be healthy? Can they hear properly? Are the eyes round, or are they slit or sunken in? Your pet's eyes and ears must work correctly, so it is worth checking them out.

6. Check for fleas
Are there any fleas around your dog? If so, you should check them every night to ensure that nothing has infested him. Not only do they make your dog itchier, but they can also carry other illnesses and make them even more ill. Use a tick repellent powder or anti tick shampoo that will keep these bloodsuckers away from your furbaby.

7. Check the coat
Your dog's coat should be silky soft, not brittle or matted. It should smell healthy, too, do not let your dog grow a beard because it could be infested with ticks and fleas, which would be bad for his health. Keep him clean-shaven so that you can check for fleas and ticks! 8. Check for pain or discomfort in their legs, paws, or other body parts.
